Annual pay is your hourly rate multiplied by hours per week and the weeks you work in a year (52 by default). Tax, USC and PRSI are then worked out on that annual figure.
Hours and weeks
Change hours per week for part-time work, and weeks per year for seasonal or term-time jobs. The hourly equivalent card shows your net pay for every hour worked.
Overtime and bonuses
Open More options to add overtime hours at a chosen multiplier or a bonus. The cards show how much of that extra pay you actually keep.
Frequently asked questions
Figures use 2026 Irish rates. See the methodology.
How do I convert an hourly wage to a yearly salary in Ireland? +
Multiply the hourly rate by hours per week and by 52. For example €20 an hour for 39 hours a week is €40,560 a year before tax, and about €33,980 after tax, USC and PRSI.
Is overtime taxed at a higher rate? +
No separate rate applies, but extra pay can push income past the standard rate band, where the marginal rate on income tax rises from 20% to 40%.
Do I pay USC and PRSI on every euro? +
USC and PRSI are charged on your gross pay with no allowance, except that USC is not payable on total income of €13,000 or less and PRSI is not payable on weekly earnings of €352 or less.
